In January we learned all about pieces of clothing, la ropa. We talked about what we usually wear in winter, in summer, in fall and in spring. We dressed and undressed our doll Susy as we sang:
Ponte tus zapatos, zapatos, zapatos,
ponte tus zapatos,
vamos afuera,
date prisa, date prisa, date, date prisa.
Ponte tus pantalones, camisa, playera, chaleco, chaqueta, gorro,
bufanda, etc..
Each child made a book titled “Mi libro de la ropa” to take home. We glued pictures of clothing to each page and reviewed the vocabulary words. We also dressed dolls with magnetic toy clothing.
We learned about la letra L/l y la letra S/s. Names that start with L and S are Leo, Lola, Layla, Lulu and Sophie. We traced the letters with our fingers/hands and with pencils.
