Colores Spanish Immersion Preschool is a small school and learning community where children come to be exposed to Spanish language and culture. Colores Preschool is committed to providing a safe, nurturing and supportive environment built upon respect, trust and love. We are a child-centered school where the teacher acts as a facilitator. We value each child for who they are and guide them towards readiness into our multi-lingual global community.

Spanish Immersion
At Colores Preschool, children are immersed in Spanish language and culture. Children are spoken to in Spanish the whole time they are at school and soon they start understanding the language and responding in Spanish. There are many benefits of learning a second language and it is best to start early in life. At Colores Preschool children absorb language, culture and traditions through activities, interaction, stories, poems, music, art, crafts, holidays, community and free play.

Colores Preschool is for children ages 18 months to 5 years old.
Schedule
Our hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Location
We are in Central Austin, near the Triangle. Our address is 4700 Grover Avenue, Austin, TX 78756. Our activities take place inside the classrooms of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of Austin. We are not affiliated with the Church.
Licensing
Colores Spanish Immersion Preschool is an approved State of Texas Licensed child-care center.
Meet Our teachers
Mrs. Cecilia holds a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Bilingual Education. She also attended Texas State University, where she earned a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education with a concentration in Spanish.
With more than 10 years of experience working with children in a variety of educational and clinical settings, Mrs. Cecilia brings a well-rounded and compassionate approach to supporting student growth and development. Most recently, she worked under the supervision of a psychologist as a psychometrist, administering assessments for ADHD and other learning disabilities. In this role, she also facilitated selective mutism camps and supported counseling services for children.
In addition to her clinical experience, Mrs. Cecilia served as a bilingual elementary school teacher in Texas for seven years and holds a Texas teaching certification. Her diverse background in education and assessment enables her to effectively support the academic, social, and emotional needs of children from a wide range of backgrounds.
Mrs. Cecilia has been part of the Colores family since 2025 when her twins started attending our part time program. Outside of her professional work, Mrs. Cecilia enjoys reading, hiking, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Thracy is the Owner and Pedagogical Consultant of Colores Spanish Immersion Preschool. With over 12 years of specialized experience working with children, Thracy acquired Colores in 2024 to blend high-quality language immersion with rigorous child development standards.
Having previously served as our on-site Director, she now oversees the school’s administrative operations, compliance, and strategic vision. Her extensive background in School Psychology directly shapes our curriculum, ensuring that our environment supports both the emotional resilience and cognitive milestones of every child. When she isn't collaborating with our Austin leadership team, she enjoys cooking, and traveling with her husband Edgar and her son Rio.
Alejandra holds a Bachelor's degree in Labor Studies. After several years working in that field, she discovered a deep passion for early childhood education. A native Spanish speaker, Alejandra has over three years of experience as a childcare educator in the Austin area, where she brings creativity, care, and enthusiasm to her work with young children. Her dedication to continued learning and growth in the field makes her a wonderful addition to Colores Preschool.
Alejandra loves decorating, especially during Christmas time. She enjoys spending time outdoors, reading and painting.
Ms. Sharon has a background in pedagogy from Honduras and years of experience as a Sunday school teacher. She knows exactly how to connect with young learners and focuses on building trust with parents so they can rest easy while their children learn and enjoy their time at Colores.
At home, she is part of a wonderful family of five that loves movie nights and outdoor adventures.
