In February we learned all about shapes, las figuras. We repeated the names of the shapes in Spanish and shaped our hands into a heart/corazón, rectangle/rectángulo, square/cuadrado, circle/círculo, triangle/triángulo, star/estrella, oval/óvalo, diamond/rombo

We also talked about how many sides/lados and corners/esquinas each shape has. We looked for objects and toys in our classroom with shapes. We also looked for pictures of shapes on our walls.

We talked a lot about Valentine’s day, the day of love and friendship, el día del amor y la amistad. We learned that heart shapes can represent our love for our friends, parents, siblings and family. The children made friendship cards for their classmates and they exchanged their friendship cards at school. It was so fun to see all the children’s sweet and creative cards to each other!

We learned about las letras B/b y C/c. Names and words that start with B/b and C/c are Benjamin, botas, blusa, ballena, bandera, bloques, bosque, bicicleta, Charlotte, corazón, cuchara, cama, canasta, calabaza, casa, cebra, cebolla, cereza, cepillo
