In January we learned all about animals/animales. We acted out the Spanish song of the elephants that play on the web of a spider. We have a big spiderweb made out of yarn and we have elephant toys. We put and count the elephants on the web as we sing: “Un elefante se balanceaba en la tela de una araña, como veía que resistía, fue a llamar a otro elefante. Dos elefantes se balanceaban… Tres elefantes… 4, 5, 6…”
We talked about different animals that live in different habitats: animales de la granja, animales de la selva, animales del desierto, animales de la ciudad, animales del oceano, insectos, etc. The children enjoyed looking at pictures of animals, playing with animal toys and singing songs about animals. We used butterfly stickers to make a collage of butterflies flying around on the paper. We also read books about animals.
