In October we learned about all different kinds of families and some names of family members: hermana, hermano, bebé, papá, mamá, tía, tío, prima, primo, abuela, abuelo, etc. We glued some pictures of family
members onto paper to make family collages or cuadros de familia. We learned a poem that starts with Dónde está mamá? Dónde está mamá? Aqui estoy, aqui estoy. Yo te quiero mucho, yo te quiero mucho. Besitos para
tí, abracitos para tí… Dónde está papá?… Dónde está hermana?…
We also talked about Halloween or Día de las brujas and Día de los muertos. We discussed different traditions people have during these holidays. We really enjoyed visiting, getting to know each other better and building community during our potluck lunch on Halloween! Adults and children looked great in their fun and creative costumes!
