¿Dónde está mamá? ¿Dónde está mamá?
Aquí estoy, aquí estoy.
Yo te quiero mucho, yo te quiero mucho.
Besitos para tí, abracitos para tí.
Then in the poem we changed mamá to papá, hermana, hermano, bebé, abuela, abuelo, tía, tío, prima, primo, etc. We glued drawings of family members into a book we will make.
We talked about traditions around Día de las brujas (Halloween) and Día de los muertos. We decorated paper linternas de calabaza (jack-o-lanterns) y calaveras (skulls).
The children really enjoy looking through and “reading” the Spanish books in our classroom library.
Also, the children like to pretend-play a lot in our play kitchen and build with our colorful bricks.
